Our family lives on a farm in Penrose North Carolina. We raise sheep for fiber, dairy goats, cattle and chickens. Our sons raise and train Quarter horses. The horses are trained for trail, pleasure, roping and games. My husband and sons spend most weekends on the road going to Barrel races.I usually stay on the farm if it is a long trip. I spin, weave and knit the fiber from the sheep, llamas and Alpacas. I also have a side job being a medical transcriptionist. We raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and crosses. Our milk is not sold commercially. I use it to make cheeses and icecream. We try to feed our family from what is grown from the farm. This includes meat, vegetables, fruits and eggs etc. Our goal is to try to preserve the farm family way of life and share it with others who are interested in this way of living.
Tuesday. We finally got the rest of the hay up today. It did dry enough so that it will be usable. We have it all undercover and will put it in the loft when we get a chance.
