Monday. No rain so far, we will keep our fingers crossed.

Dusty left early with a load of lambs. He did not want them to get too hot on the trailer so he left pretty quickly after loading. He will go and kick the hay after he has done that.

I worked around the house and got everything ready that I needed to take to the Cradle of Forestry. They are having an exhibit of the volunteers and the crafts they do so we will set that up this afternoon. I had to run to Wal-Mart before heading up there so I could get diapers for Emma Lee.

I did not leave the Cradle until close to 4pm. I ran into the Grocery store and picked up milk and supper. I have started feeding Lilly's lamb a bottle of milk a day. She just did not seem to be getting enough milk from Lilly so I thought I would try a bottle to see if she would take it. She was already several days old so I didn't think she would take it but she did. She now expects that bottle every afternoon. With Emma Lee and the lamb now taking a bottle, milk goes fast. I just feed whole milk to them after the babies get older and that is a whole lot easier and cheaper. They seem to do okay with the whole milk. When they are first starting out on the bottle, I use goats milk and then progress on to my formula and then whole milk.

Donny did not get in until late because he needed to get the hay rake serviced and ready to go for tomorrow. Dusty wormed all his Boer goats and helped me feed.

When I went to feed a couple of young Nigerian Dwarf goats, I saw that one was having some drainage and her udder was big and tight. She is a very young and little goat so I was afraid she would have problems. She wasn't supposed to be bred and had always been kept away from the bucks but something must have happened. I went and finished feeding and when Dusty and I went back to check on her she had had her baby without problems. I had already been planning on a C-section. She had a tiny little black and white girl who seemed strong and healthy. We put them in the pen with Sunni and her baby so Angel can learn from her. She seems to be a little confused about what just happened but she is talking to the baby and taking care of her. This was Donny's goat so we will surprise him with her when she gets home.
