June 28, 2009

Sunday. Donny found my Nubian dead this morning. She had refused to eat since the time we bought her and I think her inadequate nutrition plus nursing too babies just ruined her rumen. Hopefully her daughter will do well and can become my milker.

Donny left early to cut hay. Hopefully some of it will go up today. Dusty will drive the truck and and boss everyone around since he cannot lift yet. He let the horses out before he left and they are picking on each other over the fences.

I went out and planted flowers, sprayed weed control and weeded my raspberries. There is one young Nigerian goat that is getting out of the lot and nibbling on my plants. He is the only one that does that and I am hoping that he will get big enough and not be able to squeeze through the fence.

I came in during the hottest part of the day and picked up the house. Emma Lee is going in and out. She cries to be let in and when it is time for a bottle.

I went out later in the afternoon and planted some more cucumber plants and watermelon plants in the garden. Everything is growing well including the weeds. I fed alone tonight but everything went well.
