June 19, 2009

Friday. I got up early, got the dogs and Emma Lee fed and run to the grocery store and Lowes. I picked up some flowers and birdseed. I have neglected the birds for some time but there has been a hawk around that was using the bird feeders to pick up his meals. I have not heard him or seen him in a couple of days so maybe he has moved on. I picked up the food we would need for cook out tomorrow and hurried home.

The dogs and Emma Lee were ready to go out when I got home but did not stay out in the heat too long and were ready to come in and lay in front of the fan. I have not turned the air on yet but I don't know how much longer we can hold out.

I finished up some angels that I was working on and started another quilt square.

Feeding went well. Everyone seems to be adjusting to the heat. When I went to feed the Nigerians, I found that Cecily had twins. They were a little weak and she was unsure of what to do. I moved her down to the shade and offered the babies a bottle. By the time I was through feeding, she was catching on to what a mama was.

I moved one of the lambs that was sick back outside. She seemed to have recovered and I wanted her out of the sick pen. I put her in the barn yard where Lilly and her baby Lanie are. Hopefully she will stick with them. The Nigerian babies and Dusty's two little Boer goats will also keep her company.
